Dell announced Wednesday that its Q2 laptop sales surged 20% in the fourth quarter of the year.
The company said that the increase in laptop sales is largely attributable to the introduction of the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series and the introduction by Dell of the Inspiron 17 7000 series.
The Inspiron 14 7000 series had sold just 3.3 million units in the last quarter of 2013.
The new Inspiron 13 7000 series is a cheaper laptop, but the Dell laptops sold more than twice as many units.
The MacBook Air 15 7000 and the MacBook Pro 15 7000 were the two best-selling laptops last quarter. Read more
